    Passing of another great football mind.

    Former Coeburn/UVA Wise coach Carl Richards passed this morning after a long battle with brain cancer.

    I don't know anymore details or arrangements but will update as I find out, or if anyone else gets them please post them.

    I hate to hear that. Carl was a great guy. My condolences to all those that he touched and left behind.

    This is a very sad day Coach Richards was a great man and a great Coach i am proud to say i played Football under this man.

    Rip Coach you will be missed but never forgotten.

    Visitation will be held at Sturgill funeral home in Coeburn on Monday from 5-8. He was a great coach and an even better father. Thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers over the past year.

    My condolences to the entire family. He was a great man, and an excellent teacher & coach. I enjoyed all the time I got to spend with him as a student and a player.

    What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
